RUAN Hao Founding Principal
RUAN Hao, Founding Principal of LYCS Architecture, is a leading designer of China's post-80's generation. RUAN Hao received his Master degree of Architecture from Princeton University. He also holds Master and Bachelor degree of Architecture from Qinghua University in Beijing. He is one of the youngest architectural and design awardee of China's "Recruitment Program of Global Experts", and the very first architect and interior designer selected for 'Forbes China 30-under-30'. He was the youngest to be awarded the highest award of young Chinese architect '2014 China Architecture Association-Young Chinese Architect Award'. He was also awarded 'IMAGE - 50 Under 50: Innovators of the 21st Century', '2013 China Top 10 Interior Designers', 'Goldman Sachs Global Leaders' and Asia Society Asia 21 Leaders. He was the youngest visiting fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he later taught design studio with WANG Shu. Currently, RUAN Hao is also a lecturer at China Academy of Art School of Architecture.
ZHAN Yuan Partner
ZHAN Yuan received his Master degree in Architecture from Harvard University, Bachelor degree of Architecture from Tianjin University. He was tutored by Danish architect Biarke Ingels and Swiss architect Christian Kerez. Prior to joining LYCS, ZHAN Yuan had worked for prestigious firms such as Kengo Kuma Associated. Currently, he is one of the Partner in LYCS Architecture and an instructor in China Academy of Art School of Architecture. He has been leading a significant amount of important projects of LYCS Architecture, including the Tiantai No.2 Primary School. These projects received awards internationally, such as ‘Architizer - A+Awards Jury Winner’ and were exhibited in various international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale. He was also one of the youngest keynote speakers at various events in institutions such as Harvard University School of Design, Zhejiang University, Tianjin University. He was also invited to join the 2013 Harvard Asia Business Forum as the main speaker.
HE Yulou Partner
HE Yulou is one of the founding members of LYCS Architecture who has gained 10-year’s experience in the interior design field. Prior to joining LYCS, HE had worked in several listed firms such as Gold Mantis Architecture Interior Company and Zhejiang Yasha Decoration Co., Ltd. As a leader of the interior program in LYCS, he and his team have contributed to realizing many types of interior projects, covering residential, hospitality, restaurant and office spaces. Currently, he is the Senior Associate in LYCS Architecture. and he is in charge of many international projects in Singapore, HongKong and Mainland China.
His philosophy of interior design based on customer perception, demand and human orientation, brings him a high reputation in the field of interior design. He has been awarded ‘A+ Awards’, ‘AD100 Top architecture and design talents in China’, ‘Nest Awards’, ‘Suncoo Awards’ and other international and domestic awards.
CHEN Wenbin Associate
CHEN Wenbin is one of the earliest founding members of LYCS Architecture. He received his Bachelor degree in Architecture from China Academy of Art School. CHEN committed himself to Chinese traditional villages research and domestic architecture exploration, he was also concerned about urbanization and population aging problem in modern China. He has gained various experience in urban and architecture design during his professional practice. He has been engaged in more than thirty international and domestic programs, including urban design, architecture design, interior design and landscape design. He is the Senior Associate in LYCS Architecture and one of the leaders of architecture program currently. And of he has won a series of important international competitions including‘the Corner of Hangzhou’.
LAI Zhenyu Associate
LAI Zhenyu received his Master degree in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano. Prior to joining LYCS, he worked at 3XN Architects in Denmark for several years. Currently, he is one of the Associates of LYCS Architecture and the leader of the digitalization team. He won several international design awards including Guangzhou Guangxin Riverside Tower competition, with his team. He is also the chief designer of CATable 1.0 and CATable 2.0.
He has accomplished many famous exhibition projects such as ‘Tracing the City’ section in 2013 Shanghai Design Exhibition and ‘China’s National Museum Bauhaus Gallery’. Besides, he has been invited to many international design exhibitions such as the Milan Design Week 2014 and 2015, Beijing Design Week 2014, and other architecture exhibition tour.
Today, LYCS Architecture has over 40 designers with the international background and solid local design experiences. As an inter-disciplinary architectural studio, we have a diverse selection of design works includes architecture, interior design, urban design and various other contemporary design practices.
