The private residence "Ripples on the Shore" was designed by LYCS Architecture with integrated architecture, interior and soft furnishings. The project has a floor area of 1260 square meters and a 900 square meter courtyard. Green space, sunlight and elegant white curves create a bright and natural modern living atmosphere. Ripples on the shore presents an ecological, light and comfortable lifestyle, breaking the stereotype of "luxury" and heavy villa products. The design of the stacked rows is based on the simple, pure white color and continues the design language of "curve." The design pays attention to the quality of the residences after removing the complexity and keeping it simple and discards the superficial glamour and beauty. Each house's transparent floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious terrace design combine internal and external space and bring people close to nature.

"Ripples on the Shore" is part of the KINCANG Egrets Waves Residences in Shaoxing, which was also designed by LYCS Architecture. The design continues Egrets Waves's thinking of fully integrating the city's historical heritage and natural ecology, with the general principle of natural infiltration and flowing softness, pushing the design concept to the extreme from two dimensions of modernity and ecology respectively.

Natural Infiltration

The project is located on the bank of the World Heritage Grand Canal, across the water from the Taiping Bridge, which is listed in the "History of Chinese Science and Technology", and the ancient Waiting for the Moon Building.

The design uses nature as the boundary, and the wraparound courtyard wraps around the building to create a small world of its own in the city. This small world allows people to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoy the natural scenery, relax and better interact with nature.

Flowing and soft

The modeling language is inspired by the white herons flying through the canal, and the building is outlined with white curves, and the cascading eaves look like a white ripple from the air, rippling out from the land and connecting with the ripples in the water.

The continuous eaves shield the wind, rain and hot sun, creating a space under the eaves similar to traditional Chinese architecture, blurring the boundary between the inside and outside of the building.

The ultimate space created by integration

The principle of flow and softness is not only applied in architectural shapes and space creation, but also in interior and landscape design, where the element of ripples is interestingly reused.

Softness and touch also became the principle of soft furnishings selection and color scheme, with furniture shades of beige gray as the base color and orange-brown as the accent. The furniture selection has strict requirements for original texture, natural softness, warmth and touch, etc. The custom-made sofas and chairs in the home are all created by introducing top leather, creating a highly textured and dignified sense of space.
